Despite their movies being among the above mentioned seven movies, the cast of Vidyut Jammwal‘s ‘Khuda Hafiz’ and Kunal Kemmu‘s ‘Lootcase’ were not present during the conference. Actor Vidyut expressed his disappointment and pain on his Twitter, “Seven films scheduled for release but only five are deemed worthy of representation. Two films receive no invitation or intimation. The cycle continues.” His co-star, Aahana Kumra has also voiced her opinion. Kumra said that she got to know about this press conference after seeing Jammwal’s tweet and she hasn’t bothered asking why were they not informed because she feels, it will go in vain and remain unanswered. Kunal Khemu used his Twitter too and said, “Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar do toh chhalaang hum oonchi laga sakte hai.”
“The OTT platforms I have worked with have been warm, professional and democratic in how they present you. They pride themselves in equal representation. This is the first time I have seen such behaviour. Vidyut is an outsider who has made it on merit. We must support such talent considering it’s difficult to crack the industry in today’s times. Self-made people too deserved to be on this panel. We all should have been part of it,” Aahana said further.
Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan were a part of the virtual conference. Is nepotism in Bollywood a continued issue? Did we see another episode at this announcement? Let us know what you feel in the comment section below!
