Take a deep breath and scream, “Bob the Builder/ Yes, we can!” As Mattel is dealing with its Barbie finances more like a phenomenal blockbuster, they do have an upcoming project and that too with a spice of nostalgia. They presented Bob The Builder.
So, what’s the deal with them?
Mattel and Jennifer Lopez‘s Nuyorican Productions are collaborating on a future Bob The Builder project. And to star in it, Anthony Ramos comes to the equation.
About the plot, the official description of the film reads, “When Roberto “Bob” travels to the enchanting island of Puerto Rico for a major construction job, he takes on issues affecting the island and digs deeper into what it means to build. Bob’s journey will celebrate the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.”
Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico, representing ShadowMachine, will be working as producers. For the fans, it’s the same company behind Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and BoJack Horseman. Lopez and Ramos with some other names will also sit in the producer’s chair.
The project will also be overseen by Kevin McKeon, Ivan Sanchez, Arturo Thur De Koós, and Natalie Haack Flores, representing both sides.
Now, after the success of Barbie, with a whopping $1.4B and a shelf full of awards, they might have a new hit. Bob The Builder’s popularity is indeed a global one, and if you count the nostalgia factor in, it solidifies the fact that Toy and Video Game movies are the new CBM; it’s time to accept it.
