Anurag Kashyap Backs Clermont-Fernandes Bound ‘The Last Ride’

Well known filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has lent his support for short film ‘Aakhiri Ride’ (‘The Last Ride’) coming from his long time associates and motion designers and VFX supervisors turned director duo Vijesh Rajan and Yashoda Parthasarthy.

‘The Last Ride’ is going to feature as a market pick at France’s Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.

As per the official synopsis, in ‘The Last Ride’, “Desperate to secure a dowry for his sister’s wedding and escape his exploitative boss, Aman – a migrant ride-share driver in Mumbai – decides to steal his boss’s taxi. But his plan spirals into a nightmare when his last minute passenger turns out to be a Chudail (a demonic witch).”

‘The Last Ride’ stars Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik, Amir Dalvi, and Dheer Hira. Vijesh Rajan and Yashoda Parthasarthy also serve as writers for the short film in addition to making their directorial debut with it.

Kashyap’a decision to back the film stems in the facts that when he saw ‘The Last Ride’ he was impressed by its style, design, edit, the way performances were drawn out and also how he found a simplicity in it’s outrageousness.

‘The Last Ride’ is a joint production by Flip Films, Navarasa Pictures and Rajan and Parthasarthy’s newly found production company Plexus Motion Pictures.
