‘The Queen’s Gambit’ fame Anya Taylor-Joy is all set to lead Netflix’s upcoming series adaptation of Bella Mackie’s 2021 novel ‘How To Kill Your Family’.
In the eight episode series, Taylor-Joy stars as the protagonist Grace Bernard and as per the official synopsis, “Grace has a complicated family. Her dad is Simon Artemis; a billionaire and ruthless social climber. She’s the product of an affair he claims not to remember and Grace and her mum were left to fend for themselves. When her mother dies and she’s rejected by the very people who should love her, Grace transforms her anger into something useful: killing off this estranged extended family via morbidly creative means. Grace is clawing her way towards revenge and a hefty inheritance, but her mission only pulls her further away from what it is she really needs.”
Written by Emma Moran (‘Extraordinary’) who also serves as the show’s executive producer, ‘How To Kill Your Family’ marks the first series collaboration between Netflix and Gentle Films Ltd (‘Killing Eve’).
In addition to Moran, Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger, and Lee Morris also executive producer. Taylor-Joy is also executive producing for LadyKiller Productions Inc alongside ‘How to Kill Your Family’ author Mackie.
