After British, American and Israeli content, Applause Entertainment is now ready for its first French format smart original, a hit comedy web series Dix Pour Cent (Call My Agent). The show will be produced in association with Banijay Asia and renowned filmmaker Shaad Ali has been roped in for directing the show which will mark his début in the show format.
‘Call My Agent’ is a coming-of-age dramedy where four high-profile bollywood celebrity agents will take us behind the scene into the wild world of celebrities. Written by Abbas Dalal and Hussain Dalal, each episode of the show will feature some real-life celebrity but in an over-the-top version of themselves.
The lead cast of the show includes Soni Razdan (Raazi, Yours Truly), Rajat Kapoor (Bheja Fry, Code M), Aahana Kumra (Lipstick Under My Burkha, Betaal) and Ayush Mehra (known for his YouTube videos and web series) among others.
Talking about the show, Sameer Nair media head of Applause Entertainment, the content studio of Aditya Birla Group, said “Call My Agent is a witty and wicked tale that will take the film-loving audience on an enthralling, comic journey.”
Applause Entertainment has been getting much praise for its most recent show “Scam 1992- The Harshad Mehta Story” on SonyLIV. It has also made shows like “The Office” – an adaptation of the British sitcom, BBC show “Criminal Justice”, “Hostages” and “Your Honor” – adaptationof the Israeli shows, “Undekhi”, “Hello Mini” and more. ‘Luther’, an adaptation of multi award winning Idris Elba starrer BBC show is also in the making by Applause Entertainment.
“Call My Agent” is scheduled for a late October release though the platform hasn’t been notified as of yet.
Originally created by Fanny Herrero and showrunner Cedric Klapisch, Call My Agent was represented by TF1 Studio and France TV Distribution and is currently streaming on Netflix in India.
