An exciting new multi-series drama, ‘Seeker’ which captures the life of an Indian guru from a small village who starts as a pious man with honourable goals but after his rise to fame, cannot handle his own empire and success.
The international series is being produced by the producers behind the Indian remake of ‘The Office’, Applause Entertainment along with ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ production house, Gurinder Chadha’s Bend It Film & TV and Sunder Aaron’s Locomotive Global.
They are setting up an international team of writers and actors from India and abroad to make this high-end original drama for a global audience which will be shot at various locations around the world.
Applause Entertainment has been on a roll off late due to the Indian adaptations of international series it has been producing such as ‘Hostages’, ‘The Office’ and ‘Criminal Justice’ which have received rave reviews. It is also producing Indian adaptations of hit TV shows ‘Fauda’ and ‘Luther’.
Not only has the company developed original content for Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix in the form of ‘Rasbhari’, ‘City of Dreams’ and ‘Hasmukh’ respectively but it has also struck a deal with regional streaming platform, Sony Liv 2.0 for a multi-show deal.
Bend It Film & TV also produced their first Netflix series, ‘Beecham House’ last year which was a hit.
Needless to say a show back by such prominent production houses will be one to look out for when it releases digitally!
