Apple TV+ announced a new comedic series “High Desert”, that will bring together Academy, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette (“Boyhood,” “Escape at Dannemora,” “The Act”) and DGA Award winner Ben Stiller (“Escape at Dannemora”) for the second time for Apple.
Apple’s “High Desert” revolves around, “Peggy (Arquette), a former addict who decides to make a new start after the death of her beloved mother, with whom she lived in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California, and makes a life-changing decision to become a private investigator.”
The first episode of this latest comedy series by Apple Studios will be directed by Stiller who will also executive produce it through Red Hour Films alongside Nicky Weinstock and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Molly Madden and Tom Lassally. Apart from starring in “High Desert”, Arquette will serve as executive producer for the show.
The writers and creators for the series who will also executive produce it, include Nancy Fichman (“Nurse Jackie,” “Damages”), Katie Ford (“Miss Congeniality”) and Jennifer Hoppe (“Grace and Frankie,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Damages”).
Stiller and Arquette are already working with Apple for its upcoming workplace thriller “Severance,” that will be starring Arquette and Adam Scott and will be directed by Stiller, with all three serving as executive producer as well.
