Production for Apple TV Plus’s upcoming drama series ‘Lady in the Lake’ starring Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman was in full swing from earlier this year in April in Baltimore, Maryland, US. However, as per a shocking recent update, filming for the upcoming miniseries was interrupted by a group of belligerent Baltimore locals, who threatened the production crew of resorting to violence if the show’s production didn’t stop.
The group went to the extent of threatening to shoot somebody if production was not halted. They even demanded an amount of $50000 to be paid to them in order to allow the production crew to continue with the show’s filming. The incident forced the producers to take the decision of reportedly not moving forward with the production schedule and search for an alternative location for the safety of the cast and crew.
The upcoming Apple TV+ series ‘Lady in the Lake’ is a small screen adaptation of detective fiction novelist Laura Lippman’s book of the same name. The series was being shot in Baltimore because the story is set during 1960s Baltimore. Natalie Portman plays the protagonist Maddie Schwartz, a housewife and a mother who takes a bold decision and sacrifices her comfortable life to investigate an unsolved murder case. That’s when she crosses paths with Cleo Sherwood (played by Moses Ingram), a woman who works for the betterment of the city’s Black community.
The Apple TV+ series ‘Lady in the Lake’ has been helmed by Israeli American filmmaker Alma Har’el. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest update on the upcoming show.
