Fantastic news for Android TV users, especially binge watchers who are habituated to watching Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney+ Hotstar on their Android TV devices, will be able to watch the Apple TV contents too, from now on.
Earlier yesterday it was announced that Apple TV+, the streaming platform from Apple, will now be available on Google Play Store for all the TVs with Android OS. Apart from that, the new Android TV devices which will be running on Android TV 8, will have Apple TV+ built-in their devices.
Those who are not that familiar with Apple TV+, it is an ad-free subscription video on demand streaming television service of Apple Inc. which debuted in November, 2019. It has since associated a lot of famed projects of Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg and Jason Momoa amongst others.
What does this mean to the users? This means that OTT and film enthusiasts will now be able to enjoy the shows of Apple TV+ via their android TVs without being worried about purchasing an Apple device. That means shows and movies like Cherry, Greyhound, Palmer or Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special will be streaming every Android TV owner’s screens without any hassle.
It also looks like Apple has taken this decision minding the huge population of android users in India and China. These countries mostly rely on Android OS for both mobile or TV devices and launching Apple TV+ will surely be a hit amongst these users who are craving for having the streaming services from Apple on a neutral platform.
Apple TV+ will soon release a number of titles such as Foundation by David S. Goyer, Invasion and Israeli thriller Suspicion starring Uma Thurman and Kunal Nayyar, amongst others. And now we can expect these shows to be viewed by wider audiences, and thanks to this fantastic initiative by Apple and Google, we can expect more reactions and anticipation around these new contents.
