Apple TV+ has placed orders for its first original musical competition series ‘My Kind of Country’ with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine company. The competition aims to find extraordinarily talented country musicians from across the globe.
According to Apple, the series will feature a fresh, new documentary component in its search for ‘unconventional and extraordinary’ country music stars, breaking cultural and musical barriers surrounding country music. Emmy nominated Adam Blackstone will serve as the musical director for the series.
Executive producers for ‘My Kind of Country’ include Jason Owen from Sandbox Entertainment alongside Izzie Pick Ibarra; Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, and Cynthia Stockhammer through Hello Sunshine and Done + Dusted’s Katy Mullan and Melanie Fletcher.
Apple TV+ is already working with Hello Sunshine production company for two shows namely, the Emmy nominated ‘The Morning Show’ starring Reese Witherspoon herself and ‘Truth Be Told’ featuring Octavia Spencer.
As of yet, Apple TV+ has not revealed anything regarding release date for ‘My Kind of Country’.
