Apple TV Plus’ Emmy Award winning spy thriller ‘Tehran’ will soon be back with its Season 2. The streamer has just dropped a full-fledged trailer for Tehran Season 2, along with its release date. Tehran Season 2 is all set to premiere on Apple TV Plus on May 6.
Tehran is set in the backdrop of Israel’s elite intelligence agency, Mossad. It centres on Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan (Niv Sultan), and her bid to infiltrate the dangerous world of Iran’s secretive Revolutionary Guard. Her aim is to destroy the volatile, nuclear-powered country’s nuclear reactor and neutralise their nuclear warheads. Tehran Season 1 ended with Tamar unfortunately failing in her mission.
The stakes are much higher in Tehran Season 2, as Tamar must choose an even more dangerous route to nullify the nefarious plans of Iran’s hardliners. Academy Award nominee and Emmy winner Glenn Close enters season 2 as the enigmatic Marjan Montazeri, who goads Tamar to enter the den of Iran’s intelligence setup. Just like the debut season of the show, the trailer of Tehran Season 2 shows off high-octane action sequences, bomb blasts, shootouts, car chases and the like. The Apple TV Plus show looks good to amp up the thrill and suspense by notches.
Shaun Toub, Shervin Alenabi, Arash Marandi, and Shila Ommi return to reprise their roles in Tehran Season 2. The Israeli series is created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, and Maor Kohn, and directed by Daniel Syrkin.
