Take Apple TV to the podium and worship it, as the OTT platform is definitely one of the strong fighters in the OTT space. Especially with a series like Ted Lasso, which managed to become the most-watched original series and that too with far fewer subscribers.
Now, how will Apple TV hijack the industry?
They just renewed Idris Elba’s thrilling series Hijack for a second season. And talking about 30,000 feet thrillers, it is gaining good traction from the people. Even Netflix’s recent Lift managed to grab love from audiences despite mediocre reviews.
The first season managed to grab a 7.4 rating on IMDb and revolves around a 7-hour-long flight. Flying from Dubai to London, the flight was far from peaceful as the flight hosted a bunch of hijackers.
So, Elba makes an attempt to manage the situation with his negotiation skills, at least that’s what he thinks. The series escalates soon, so you need to add it to your watchlist.
Talking about the response of the series, Elba said, “I was floored by the overwhelming audience response after Season 1. It’s top secret what new situation unfolds for Sam Nelson, but I can assure you we will bring the high octane back!”
“I’m open to that character coming back. I think if people were compelled to like the character, then I’m in,” Elba said. “But it’s kind of like — he’s not a cop [so] what would be the acceptable Sam Nelson return? And if I’m honest, I’m not sure. I’d like that, but I just don’t want to put him on another hijack.”
Elba also confirmed that if they can execute a good and successful boardroom meeting, he will be back as Nelson.
No storyline for season 2 has been confirmed till now but keeping Apple TV’s recent reputation in mind, it will definitely be a banger.
