Apple TV Plus’s upcoming psychological thriller series ‘Constellation’ seems to be rapidly rounding off its cast after officially getting greenlit by the streaming giant last month. In the latest update for the eagerly anticipated show, English actor James D’Arcy has been set to star alongside Swedish actress Noomi Rapace and ‘Breaking Bad’ actor Jonathan Banks. He will be essaying the role of Noomi Rapace’s husband Magnus.
James D’Arcy is known for his role as Howard Stark’s butler Edwin Jarvis in the ‘Agent Carter’ series and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ movie. Besides, he had also lent his acting skills in the ‘Homeland’ series, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’, and ‘Broadchurch’ series. One of his forthcoming acting roles include Nolan’s star-studded World War-II based film ‘Oppenheimer’.
It was previously also announced that the Apple TV+ show ‘Constellation’ will be directed by Emmy winner Michelle MacLaren. And now, it has been revealed that German filmmaker Oliver Hirschbiegel and Joseph Cedar have also been roped in to direct three episodes each out in the eight-part series ‘Constellation’. This implies that Michelle MacLaren will helm the remaining two episodes of the series.
In ‘Constellation’, Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) will essay the role of a woman named Jo, who comes back to Earth after an unfortunate incident in space. After her return, she learns that some important parts of her life on Earth are missing. While Jonathan Banks will be playing the role of a Nobel prize winning physicist named Henry.
The show’s underlying premise ostensibly revolves around the protagonist’s search for the truth about the conspiracy surrounding the hidden history of traveling in space and her efforts to get back whatever she has lost in life.
