Apple TV+ To Grab Brad Pitt Racing Drama In Intensely-Fought Deal

Apple TV Plus seems to have emerged the winner in a closely-fought chase to grab a new Brad Pitt racing drama. The film was in the wish-list of top film production studios and streaming services, including Paramount, MGM, Sony, Universal, Netflix and Amazon. However, as matters stand currently, it is Apple TV that has apparently walked away with the prized acquisition.

The new film comes from ‘Top Gun’ producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, who is producing it. ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ director Joseph Kosinski is directing the film. Ehren Kruger, writer of Top Gun: Maverick, and three Transformers films, is writing the screenplay for the Brad Pitt racing drama. Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is also attached to the project.

Brad Pitt plays a down and out, retired Formula One driver, who agrees to mentor a young driver and be his teammate on the track as his last hurrah. Brad Pitt has been keen to star in a racing drama for the longest time. Looks like his dream will finally come true with this as-yet-untitled Apple TV Plus film.

Brad Pitt is working in another high profile film for Apple TV Plus. Co-starring George Clooney, that film is also still untitled. Apple had won the film after a similar closely-fought race with top production studios, and streamers Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Brad Pitt and George Clooney play lone-wolf fixers in the film, with both taking on the same job.

Apple TV Plus is reportedly paying big bucks to acquire the new Brad Pitt film right from under the nose of the other high profile competitors.
