AppleTV’s legal drama ‘Presumed Innocent’ has now been renewed for a second season. It was an eight episode series with Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role.
The series was created by David E. Kelley and the various episodes are directed by Greg Yaitanes and Anne Sewitsky. It premiered on the 12th of June with huge anticipation from audiences. The show is adapted from the novel of the same name by Scott Turow and there already has been a movie adaptation of the book that had Harrison Ford in the lead role.
‘Presumed Innocent’ tells the story of Rusty Sabich, a public prosecutor who is accused of murder of one of his colleagues and has to struggle to defend his innocence. While it becomes known to all that he had a sexual relationship with the victim, Rusty tries hard to save his family and marriage as well.
The show also stars Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Lily Rabe. Most of the actors are expected to reprise their roles in the second season. However, this might be difficult because reportedly, the new season will be dealing with an entirely new case.
Audiences are divided on opinions. Some Say that it would have been best if they finished the story and then let it be. Others are of the opinion that a show of this quality must go on, even if they have to take new stories for that.
