Amazon Prime Video has always been supportive of the Stand Comedy genre which is slowly and gradually finding a strong fan following in India. With their past releases of Zakir Khan’s comedy specials and Comicstaan in both versions (Hindi and Tamil), it is evident that Prime is looking to get more of these specials. With the response that Zakir Khan’s ‘Kaksha Gyarvi’ and ‘Haq Se Single’, it was about time Prime Video came up with another special.
And now the wait is over as comedian Aravind SA’s famous special ‘I Was Not Ready Da‘ will be arriving on Amazon Prime Video. This will be the follow-up to his 2018 special Madarasi Da which is also available on Prime.
The official trailer for the special was released by Prime and it is available on their YouTube channel. The trailer follows Aravind SA reminiscing about his visit to a strip club in USA and how he found that the majority of people going in there were Tamils. The new special will follow several of SA’s fun encounters of his life which he will be serving to the audience in his regular quirky style.
Amazon Prime Video released an official statement where they shared the importance of laughter in these unprecedented times and how there is a dire need of it. And with ‘I Was Not Ready Da’ they desire to put smiles in people’s faces.
