Ardh looks like the movie that can turn the tides for Rajpal Yadav and the ZEE5 streaming platform. The on-screen Chhote Pandit has entertained the Indian audience with his superb comic timing and amazing performances in numerous comedy movies for more than 22 years. Movies like Hungama, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Malamaal Weekly, Chup Chup Ke, Bhagam Bhag, Dhol, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and much more flawlessly display his insane comic talent. It is not like he has not done dramatic roles in his career. But the Indian viewers never really took his dramatic characters seriously. However, all this may change after the arrival of Ardh on ZEE5.
Rajpal Yadav recently spelt out his experiences while filming Ardh. He plays a struggling artist, Shiva, who desperately wants his big break in Bollywood. He is ready to go to any length to achieve his dream. Shiva even starts disguising himself as a transgender named Parvati to earn some extra bucks. In a recent interview, he said:
“Theatre professionals always do their research and also observe things around. The script was very challenging and it gave me immense joy to perform those challenging scenes or portrayal that character. Everything was done keeping in mind the nuances of each character be it playing a transgender or a theatre actor.”
In one of his early interviews, Rajpal also dedicated this movie to the millions of those people who are doing whatever they can to make their ends meet. Additionally, he relished every moment of the filming process and feels honoured to be a part of it.
Along with Yadav, we will see Rubina Dilaik playing Shiva’s wife in Ardh. This project is her Bollywood debut. She is well-known for her performances in various daily soaps like Chotti Bahu, Saas Bina Sasural, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ahsaas Ki, and many more. Plus, the film’s remaining cast has Hiten Tejwani and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
Ardh will arrive on the ZEE5 streaming service on June 10 with Rajpal Yadav as the leading man.
