Politics runs in the veins of most people in India, and even though not everyone may participate in it, almost everybody surely has some or the other opinion about it. India is a nation with the largest democracy, and that means that there are more opinions and biases than one can fathom which leaves us to one question is it viable to make a political drama like Tandav in such a nation and more importantly how much of it will be the truth and how much of it will be biased.
Saif Ali Khan is not new to controversy, and his latest venture Tandav is in the news for the wrong reasons again as sources point out that it is inspired by a real-life figure. I mean we could have guessed from the start that such a project would definitely not go without rousing some people in the wrong way. Saif Ali Khan is all set to play a grey character, and he had even said that he loves such characters for the kind of moral complexity they possess. Ali Abbas Zafar is set to helm the Tandav project and has a star-studded line-up with some great performers like Sunil Grover, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub and Dimple Kapadia play Pivotal roles in this series.
While there have been attempts at making political thrillers in the past, very few, have been made on such a massive scale with the ability to reach a vast audience. Politics is the nerve of the nation, and one should always be careful when threading on sensitive topics. While any discussion on this topic can be called as controversial in some manner or the other, we leave this matter entirely to the discretion of the viewers. Tandav will release exclusively on 15th January on amazon prime.
