Are Reboots of Famous Series the Next “In” Thing?

Recently there has been news all over of reboots coming up. Reboots of famous series like the Gossip Girl and the recent one added to the list, Sex and the City. So what’s with these reboots? Are we running out of creative ideas for the latest series, that we are taking the old ones and making them fresh? No, we don’t think so. Reboots are a different ball game altogether. It isn’t related to one having creative ideas or not. Reboot can be anything, series turned into a movie, a movie into a series, an animation into a live-action. Everything can be replanned in a reboot.

Reboots and remakes are completely different as one confuses them most of the time to be similar. Remakes are basically the same stories that are planned in a different background, while reboots are something, which is a story that is set in the same background but with different characters and story styles. It’s mostly like what would happen to a story if they were set in a different year and era altogether. Reboots most of the time work that way.

There are certain benefits to having reboots of famous series come up. As we know that those have been hits in a certain era and the characters have left a long-lasting impact on us, what would happen if the story was set in today’s time? We get to see a story now, that will be more relatable to us. For example, the Gossip Girl reboot, this time though, will have the same background, but the characters are completely different and set in a premise that is relatable to today’s generation and this can hit it off amongst the viewers that weren’t fortunate enough to see the earlier series.

Though, this seems like a positive effect, but for the one that set the trend among the older generation, it will be hard to please them since they literally have seen the best, unfurl in front of their eyes. But for now, it seems like we are definitely watching the reboots with the rest of you all.
