Ashram- A New Odia Movie With National Appeal

A new Odia movie named Ashram is about to be released on September 13 and it is something that has a national appeal after a long time. The movie will be available to screen on PVR-INOX which is one of the biggest nationwide cinema-chain in India. The movie is produced under the banner of Anees Entertainment and directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahu.

The film has a talented cast that includes Mahashweta Ray, Abhisek Giri, Suryamayi Mohapatra, Sweta Acharya, Tusa Acharya, Prashant Mishra and Kalpana. Mahashweta is seen in the lead role. The story of the film is adapted from a story by Nityananda Nandi and is written by Dilip Choudhury. The music is given by Abhijit Majumdar, and the songs of the movie are creating quite a buzz.

The most intriguing aspect of the movie is the powerful performance by Mahashweta. She explained her role as a woman from a noble family who becomes an IAS officer and in the later parts of her life, devotes herself to the service of the elderly. Suryamayi said she will be playing the role of Mahashweta’s character in her younger life. Abhisek supposedly plays the role of Suryamayi’s love interest. The film, as per Sahu, talks about a largely prevalent social issue which we will understand once we watch the film. True indeed, one gets no idea of the theme the movie deals with by merely looking at the trailer. The film especially needs to be applauded as it deviates from the usual track where the Odia industry was going to create an intensely powerful movie.

The film is being celebrated nationally as one of the biggest cinema chains PVR-INOX is going to screen it after release. The movie will be released on 13th September, Friday. Earlier it was scheduled to be released in August, but then it was postponed to early September and now finally it will be released on 13th September. The movie expects a good reception from the audience owing to its great content and big names like Suryamayi and Mahashweta being associated with it.
