The rating system is named differently in the USA if we compare it to that of India. The American system rates a motion picture into 5 different categories. The big and A grade films mostly fall into three categories namely G, PG-13, and R.
They are equivalent to the Indian system where CBFC puts them into U, U/A, and A categories based on the content of the film.
Gore, profanity, and nudity are the usual causes that push a film to maturer ratings. Graphic Nudity is one such factor that is considered mature not only in India but also in the USA. So, normally films having graphic nudity are rated R in the USA and A in India.
But but but, there is a groundbreaking record.
Even after having graphic nudity, Asteroid City becomes the first ever film to have a PG-13 rating.
It will help the movie grab a wider audience base along with aiding the already high buzz of the film.
The movie directed by Wes Anderson has a huge starcast comprising Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Steve Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, and Jeff Goldblum.
It is scheduled for a release on June 16, let’s see what rating it comes India to.
