Asur, Arshad Warsi's Web Debut Series, Is Finally Here; Premieres Today!

Asura was one of the most keenly awaited shows in the Indian web space. Its alluring cast – Arshad Warsi, making his digital debut; and audience favourite, TV star Barun Sobti, had raised expectations from the series sky high.

Well, viewers and fans can now breathe easy, as Asura is finally available for streaming on Voot, the originally intended platform that had commissioned the series.

Besides being Arshad Warsi’s debut vehicle in the digital domain, Asura also captured audience interest owing to its intelligent premise.
Asura is touted as a crime and murder mystery, with a deeply psychological twist to the crimes. A crazed serial killer is on the loose, committing a spate of murders, and the duo of Police officer Dhananjay Rajpoot (Arshad Warsi) and forensic expert Nikhil Nair (Barun Sobti) must use all the tricks up their sleeve to nab him.

Arshad’s character also plays past mentor to Barun Sobti’s character in the narrative. The series is set in the mystical backdrop of the holy city of Benares.

The weird part is that Asura had wrapped up shoot way back in the fag end of 2018. After a lot of anticipation and frustration over the lack of information about its premiere date, we are happy to tell you that Asura is live and streaming on Voot, which is Viacom 18 Studios’ digital arm.

Anupriya Goenka, Ridhi Dogra, Sharib Hashmi, Gaurav Arora, Amey Wagh, Aditya Lal, Ekta Tiwari, Deepak Qazir and Pawan Chopra play vital roles in the series, which is produced by Tanveer Bookwala’s Ding Entertainment.
