In her next science fiction picture Atlas which will be available on Netflix from May 24th, Jennifer Lopez is sent on a quest to preserve humanity.
The first trailer for the movie, which was released by Netflix today, March 13, has Lopez in the role of Atlas Shepherd, a “talented but misanthropic data analyst with a strong suspicion of artificial intelligence,” according to the plot summary.
She “joins a quest to capture a robot that has gone rogue and that she has an enigmatic past with.” Her only chance to save mankind from AI, however, when things don’t go as planned, is to put your confidence in it.”
Brad Peyton, who has directed blockbusters including Rampage and San Andreas starring Dwayne Johnson, is the director of Atlas.
The cast also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla, and Mark Strong in addition to Lopez, 54.
Before Glass Onion and Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction, Lopez’s action film The Mother, which debuted at No. 8 on the platform’s most-watched English-language movie list last year, became an enormous hit for the streaming site.
