If all goes well, popular Kollywood director Atlee Kumar‘s Bollywood debut starring none other than Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara is expected to go on floors later this month. The director has chosen the reigning superstars from both industries to join him in his debut- ‘King Khan’ and ‘Lady Superstar’ (as they are popularly referred to as)! Nothing much is known about their roles or the script, but it looks like SRK will be playing a double role in the movie. The crew will reportedly arrive in Mumbai soon to start filming the first schedule.
The blockbuster in the making is reportedly going to be shot on a very high budget and will be filmed in various locations, though the first schedule will start in Mumbai. An official announcement about the film with a short teaser of sorts is expected to drop on 15th August. It was reported earlier that director Atlee had already shot some preliminary test shots with the two lead actors, so who knows, we can even expect those shots along with the announcement! The film is going to be a Pan-India one and may most probably be simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil. It is expected to release in Telegu, Kannada and Malayalam as well, following the trend set by competitors. A.R. Rahman is likely to step in as music composer, since it is a common expectation for Atlee-films to have great music!
Director Atlee has previously worked with Nayanthara in 2013, when he made an impressive debut with the Tamil romantic drama, ‘Raja Rani’, also starring Arya in the lead. The film even won Nayanthara a Filmfare Best Actress award. Post that, Atlee gained super popularity due to the back-to-back, hat-trick blockbusters with Thalapathy Vijay- Theri, Mersal and Bigil.
Nayanthara has been in the news since yesterday, when a popular TV show promo dropped, where she finally announced her engagement to director Vignesh Shivan and showed the viewers her ring. On the work front, her film ‘Netrikann’ releases on Disney+Hotstar on the 13th of August. Besides that, she also has ‘Annaatthe’ with Superstar Rajinikanth slated for a Diwali release, Telegu film ‘Aaradugula Bullet’ and beau Vignesh Shivan’s ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha in the pipeline.
