Ajay Devgan and Tabu starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ was released today along with ‘Ulajh’ starring Jahnvi Kapoor. The movie was released with absolutely underwhelming buzz around the age long chemistry between Ajay Devgan and Taboo and had quite high expectations. Neeraj Pandey’s direction and music by Academy Award winner MM Keeravani further elevates audience’s expectations from the movie which supposedly the movie failed to fulfil.
The movie received mixed reviews from the audience with some liking the linear storyline with powerful performances of the actors and especially the chemistry between the lead actors, still some found the movie to be boring and weakly written. People especially the youth seemed to dislike the idea of creating romantic movies with previous generation actors.
Also, the excellent filmography of the cast forces the audience to expect better movies from these actors and not some average romance. Ajay’s phenomenal works in his previous works like Maidaan, Shaitaan and Drishyam 2 really pushes his audience’s expectations to receiving some exceptional movies from him. People are even blaming the director Neeraj Pandey who has been well acclaimed for his nationalistic projects involving defense and national security as his prime subjects, for leaving his forte and creating a romantic movie which as a result turned out as a disaster.
The cast might have been impressive but still it failed to satisfy the audience. We can not deny the fact that no matter how powerful performances they can give, there comes a time when you can’t use an actor for a job he did 20 years ago.
