‘Avatar 2’ First Reviews Out: Phenomenal, Storytelling At Its Finest!

How did we even come to doubt James Cameron? The man has given us gems like ‘Titanic’, ‘The Terminator’, and ‘Avatar’ to name a few. And it seems the 68-year-old has done it again. His latest movie and one of the biggest movies ever made, the film is getting rave reviews after its world premiere from those lucky enough to have seen it.

The terms used to describe the cinematic experience of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ are ‘phenomenal’, ‘masterpiece’, and ‘mesmerizing’. The movie is getting praise from all over for the big screen experience it has shaped up to be, and is being called a never seen film from a visual and technical standpoint! While many were concerned that Cameron’s self-assured behavior in interviews pre-release would lead people to be more critical of the movie, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ from the looks is as good as he said it is. There are some of the early reviews:

Among the performances, Sigourney Weaver’s performance has been singled out for praise and the actress may even be in the Oscar nominations race as per many top publishers. It is to be noted that Weaver originally appeared in the first film as Dr. Grace Augustine, a human who takes the side of the Na’vi and dies during the conflict at Pandora. In the second movie, she plays Kiri, Jake, and Neytiri’s adopted teenage daughter.

For such big films, the huge expectation people have for the movie is a double-edged sword, even more so for the sequel to the highest-grossing film ever made. And ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ and Cameron, it seems, have passed the test with flying colors. The movie has pushed CGI technology to new places, with the underwater scenes and the aquatic life by themselves enough to warrant a second watch.

Cameron had already revealed that unlike the first one, the 2022 movie would focus more on family and the bond between the characters. With all the reviews praising the emotional connection established in the movie, it is safe to say the maverick filmmaker has successfully executed the soul of the movie, which would ably support the visual extravaganza.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is quickly becoming the viewer’s best film of the year. The movie will get a grand release in India, with pre-bookings already open and filling out fast. The Disney movie will be released in the country in five languages- English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. We recommend you do not miss this masterpiece, and we highly recommend seeing it in IMAX if you can.

Looks like we’re in for a treat at the movies on the 16th!
