Ayan Mukerji Shares His Inspiration For Making Original Brahmāstra

Brahmāstra is just a few weeks away from getting released. Undoubtedly it is the biggest venture by Bollywood yet and given the condition of biggies like Lal Singh Chaddha at the box office, the fate of Brahmāstra Part One Shiva might be the fate of Bollywood.
Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva is the brain creation of Ayan Mukerji. With a few weeks left for promotion, the makers are going full on with establishing communication with people.

This is the very reason, Ayan Mukerji is himself coming up with short sessions in which he shares the vision, insights, and inspiration behind the movie. This is a very unusual tactic as we have hardly seen any director talking with the audience about their film in such a manner.

But a film as different as Brahmāstra needs it nonetheless. Also, it is quite essential for the filmmaker to explain those elements as Brahmāstra isn’t just another film.

It will involve technicalities, complex origin stories, fantasy, and of course Indian mythology. This way, it is a brilliant step to actually explain those things.

Regardless, the inspiration for creating Astraverse came from consuming a lot of content. Ayan Mukerji would read fantasy books like Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter while getting exposed to Puranic stories of Shiva, Vishnu, and Mata Durga.

Brahmāstra originated in his head as a result of reading and listening to those stories and thus became an original Astraverse.
