While innovation and fan fiction are always welcome, they also have a legacy in the eyes of fans. One can say that they tried to create their own version of a specific character or story, but people are not interested in such kinds of arguments. They either love the innovative plot or dislike it passionately.
As of this moment, Hotstar’s new series called “Baahubali: Crown of Blood” falls at the same testing point. We do not rant about the extreme popularity and significance of the Baahubali franchise in the history of Indian cinema. It is a canonical event and we all have witnessed it.
Netflix also attempted a big budget series on the same but it later got cancelled after spending crores on cast and sets. Now, it is Disney+Hotstar attempting an animated series on the same franchise. The series is a sort of prequel when we get to see the rival princes fighting together against a common enemy.
How did the series come out to be?
Well, the initial impressions are not good at all. The animation is poor and poor to the extent of looking immature. The same people have seen things like “What If…?” and “X-Men 97” on Disney+Hotstar. It is ridiculous to imagine that they would wanna watch an animation like “Baahubali: Crown of Blood”.
If kids are insisting on watching it then it is fine. Otherwise, it is best to stay away from it, especially if you love the Baahubali franchise.
