A few months back, we had apprised our readers that the National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s next directorial movie ‘Babli Bouncer’ featuring ‘Baahubali’ actress Tamannaah Bhatia will stream on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform from 23rd September. The film would be streaming in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. And today, the makers have dropped the film’s official trailer.
The trailer starts off with a voiceover by veteran actor Saurabh Shukla who introduces us to the village of bouncers Fatehpur Beri where virtually every boy’s focus is on bodybuilding in order to eventually become a bouncer.
Cut to Tamannaah Bhatia’s titular character of an aspiring female bouncer – Babli Bouncer, who is portrayed as even better than her male counterparts in her village. The rest of the trailer gives a sneak-peek about how Babli achieves her dream of becoming a bouncer in Delhi. From the trailer, it seems that ‘Babli Bouncer’ is the perfect female-centric vehicle for Tamannaah Bhatia to showcase her acting talents yet again.
‘Babli Bouncer’ is being touted as a coming-of-age and slice-of-life, feel-good, comedy-drama and would ostensibly portray the protagonist’s endeavor to make her mark in a field that is essentially dominated by males. It boasts of a unique premise and it’s a genre that has not been a core area of interest for Madhur Bhandarkar. Nevertheless, considering his filmography of realistic and gritty cinema, it will likely turn out to be a well-researched film on the world of bouncers.
Tamannaah Bhatia, who is known for her roles in successful movies such as ‘Baahubali’, ‘F2’ and ‘Veeram’, was last seen in the box-office hit film ‘F3: Fun and Frustration’. And her forthcoming acting projects include the rom-com ‘Plan A Plan B’ co-starring Riteish Deshmukh, romantic film ‘Gurthunda Seethakalam’, ‘Jee Karda’ series, and ‘Bholaa Shankar’ co-starring Chiranjeevi and Keerthy Suresh, amongst others.
