After the success of its first season on 1 March 2024, this series is back again to captivate you with more twists, turns, and gripping courtroom battles. Don’t miss out.
Though there are no updates for the ‘Maamla Legal Hai session 2’ story, but we can expect that it will again be an amusing take on folks working in the Indian justice system. In its first session, we saw that the story is all about a workplace comedy set in the Patparganj District Court. There were a group of ‘jugaadu’ lawyers navigating through peculiar cases with humour and wit.
The ‘Maamla Legal Hai session 1’ started with Ravi Kishan (as VD Tyagi), a clever lawyer who knew how to win cases by uncovering legal loopholes. He aimed to become the Bar Association President and lead the Patparganj Bar Association. Ananya Shroff, portrayed by Naila Grewal, was a passionate lawyer from Harvard who wanted to help the underserved but faced challenges in Patparganj. Nidhi Bisht (Sujata), or Didi, dreamt of having her own legal practice. Anant V Joshi (Vishwas Pandey), the court manager, compared to Donna Paulson from ‘Suits.’
Showrunner Sameer Saxena, along with director Rahul Pandey and writers Saurabh Khanna and Kunal Aneja, presented an OTT version of ‘Jolly LLB’ filled with humour and puns. While the show’s central idea was well-researched and authentic with real-life news, there were moments when the story slowed down, especially focusing on VD Tyagi’s personal life. Excessive melodrama occasionally affected the otherwise light-hearted tone of the series.
