As the world is still celebrating the Oscars, we now turn our attention to appreciating television entertainment. This year, the competition is definitely tight, with shows like The Crown and Black Mirror poised to battle it out for top honors.
To give you a taste of the delicious meal, The Crown leads the nominations with the most nods, earning nominations in eight categories. Black Mirror follows closely behind with seven nominations, and three other shows also boast six nominations each.
The BBC emerged as the frontrunner in this year’s nominations, earning 65 nods, nearly double that of its closest competitor, Netflix, which secured 35 nominations.
Over 500 voters invested 127 hours across 43 juries to determine the nominees. The upcoming Bafta ceremonies, split into craft and television awards, are scheduled for April 28 and May 12, respectively, with BBC One and iPlayer airing the latter.
