Leave it to anime to bring our wildest fantasies to life through wonderfully crafted caricatures and a banger background score. One of the most well-written, entertaining, and emotional animes available on Netflix right now is its rendition of the 2001 classic manga ‘Baki the Grappler’.
The original series that spanned between 2001 and 2007 followed young martial artist Baki Hanma as he yearned to become the strongest fighter in the world. The 2021 Netflix adaptation ‘Baki Hanma’ followed the young man as he trains to become strong enough to surpass his father, Yujiro Hanma, the strongest fighter in the world. What ensues is that five of the world’s most violent and brutal death row inmates gather to face Baki.
‘Baki Hanma’ is also a standalone sequel to ‘Baki’. Much to the joy of action fans worldwide, Netflix has officially announced a new sensation. The anime film ‘Baki Hanma v/s Kengan Ashuro’ will star fan-favorite fighters Baki from the ‘Baki’ series and Ohma Tokita of the ‘Kengan Ashura’ manga series as they come face-to-face on the battleground for the first time.
While the film is set to drop exclusively on the platform on June 6, it is no wonder it will be a glorious portrayal of blood, gore, and violence.
