Bangladeshi Platform Chorki To Enter India With New Slate!

The Bangladeshi OTT platform ‘Chorki’ is going to enter India and it will have a huge slate for its Indian audiences. After Hoichoi, the regional Indian platform has been introduced in Bangladesh with a string content-slate, it is now the other way round. And Chorki’s coming to India strengthens the possibilities of further collaborations between the countries for high quality content.

The shows like ‘Pet Kata Shaw’ from Nuhash Humayun impressed audiences not only in India but globally. Other shows like ‘Shaaticup’, ‘Syndicate’, ‘Myself Allen Swapan’, ‘Morichika’, ‘Jaago Bahey’ too were quite famous among Bengali audiences. So, the platform is now finally coming to India with fresh Bengali content. The CEO of Chorki, Redman Rony has said, “Over the next three years, ‘Chorki’ will be producing 30 original productions in India, collaborating closely with local talents of Bengal.”

Meanwhile, Hoichoi continues its reign in Bangladesh as well. Hoichoi originals from Bangladesh like ‘Kaaragar’ have found a huge audience and gained critical acclaim. Film and OTT industries from Bangladesh and Tollygunge are regularly collaborating now. In the Mrinal Sen biopic by Srijit Mukherjee, Chanchal Chowdhury is playing the lead role.

On Chorki’s coming to India, Chanchal Chowdhury has said, “I’ve received recognition for my roles in India and I’ve had the opportunity to work in Bengal’s OTT industry. I’m thrilled that now Indians can relish our rich Bangladeshi content right here.”
