Bangladeshi star Ziaul Faruq Apurba is going to make his debut in Indian films very soon. He will be seen in the Tollywood (not Telugu cinema, the Bengali film industry is called Tollywood as well) production ‘Chaalchitra’.
Alongside Apurba, a Bollywood actor will be making his debut in Bengali films as well. Shantanu Maheshwari, known for tremendous performances in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Tooth Pari’ and various tv soaps, is also going to make his Bengali debut. Raima Sen, the actress known for her work in Hindi and Bengali films, will be seen in the movie too. Raima Sen will next be seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s movie ‘The Vaccine War’.
The movie, ‘Chaalchitro’, is directed by Pratim D. Gupta. It is being produced under the banner of Friends Communications. Actors like Swastika Dutta, Anirban Chakrabarti, and Tota Roychowdhury will also be seen in the movie. Tota Roychowdhury has impressed fans with his performance and the Kathak dance in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’.
Chaalchitro is said to be a paced thriller about a group of police officers trying to hunt down a group of criminals. Tota plays the role of Kanishk Chatterjee, who leads the team of the detectives.
Chaalchitro has become one of the most anticipated Bengali films of the year and it is at par with the excitement for Dawshom Awbotaar. These many faces, that are completely new to Tollywood, will be coming together for a thriller, a genre that Bengali are best at; this is a matter of great excitement for fans.
