Battle Of The Views: Which Show Reigned During Labour Day?

Holidays come as a means of respite, not only for working professionals, but nearly everyone. Moreover, when the holiday – a nationwide-one at that – gets clubbed along with a weekend, it becomes more than just a celebration and commemoration of the cause of the holiday.

A similar trend was observed with the recently passed Labour Day weekend throughout the United States. Between August 30 to September 2, the four days of the Labor Day weekend, consumer viewing statistics were off the charts. And to top it all off was Season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, which went on to become the second-most-watched original series in the U.S. during its first week of streaming.

The season clocked a staggering average of about 2.7 million views, amounting to a total of 553.5 million watch minutes. This was preceded only by Netflix’s ‘Worst Ex Ever’, which averaged at nearly 2.8 million views, against a grand total of 633.3 million watch minutes!

With five more episodes remaining for Season 2 of ‘The Rings of Power’, it is estimated to top viewing charts in the upcoming weeks as well. All these high figures, and yet, Season 1 of the hit show received a bigger opening!
