Disney+Hotstar is releasing a lot of South Indian projects as part of their latest “Hotstar specials” and ‘Triples’ is one such Tamil web-series. It is going to be produced by an acclaimed young director, Karthik Subbaraj. Jai Sampath, Vani Bhojan, Balag Jayaram, Vivek Prasanna, Namita Krishnamurthy, and Madhuri MJ are set to star in prominent roles in this upcoming television series.
The producer behind the OTT series, Karthik Subbaraj is currently directing Dhanush’s Jagame Thandhiram. The Rajnikanth starrer ‘Petta’ director, Karthik was part of a team of directors who created the Tamil anthology flick ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’. He created (and directed) the short film ‘Miracle’ which was well-received but has become marred with plagiarism controversy. The film, however, was a critical hit.
Due to its quick upcoming release, the teaser provided hasn’t given much information. But what we do know is that the series will follow a trio of best friends. These three “brothers” have a close bond with each other but their relationship faces a disruption when one of them falls for a girl. They also run afoul of a gangster and his thugs chase them throughout the city, while they try to evade them.
Disney+Hoststar has decided to invest some serious cash into the “Specials” web series and working with regional film industries such as Tollywood and Kollywood, shows that they understand the popularity of these two film industries in the country. They have also decided to invest in other shows such as ‘My Perfect Husband’, ‘November Story’, and ‘Live Telecast’, with major actors portraying prominent roles.
Triples is set to release this month, November on Disney+Hotstar VIP. Watch the teaser for the series below.
