Bell Bottom Desperately Waiting For Weekend As Day 2 Collection Sees No Jump

Bell Bottom has been the movie from Bollywood that everyone has been looking forward to. Despite the tough times, Bell Bottom makers and actors decided not to go for the OTT release and instead go for the theatrical release. Akshay Kumar Bell Bottom was released on the 19th of August and fans have been delighted to see a Bollywood movie coming to theatres. The entire film industry has called this decision a legendary one and is expecting some solid comeback to bring back the Indian Box Office up again one more time.

The first-day opening saw a decent earning of Rs. 2.75 crores, which was Rs. 2.25 crores less than what analysts had predicted. Yes, the trade and Bollywood analysts have been predicting the movie would bring at least Rs. 5 crores on the first day, but it didn’t look like it was able to do that. Now, Day 2 has almost closed down, and on Day 2, and sadly though the movie hasn’t seen any kind of jump in the box office earnings. It has been recorded as exactly the same as it was on Day 1.

Now, analysts, trade owners, and exhibitors are still hopeful that it will pick up the pace during the weekend since it was released on a Thursday. Also, the movie will be released in foreign countries especially in countries like UAE, which has proved to be a mega-hub for Bollywood movies, in the past years. So, the makers and analysts are hoping that the shows outside India will be able to bring the required money that is needed to declare the movie a blockbuster. As for the audience, the morning shows didn’t see much of a crowd, nor did the afternoon shows, but towards the evening, the crowd seemingly was more than the first two halves, which shows that fans are ready to watch movies during the latter half of the day.

Given the situation of Covid-19 and with no halls opening up Maharashtra, the limit for the first day was kept at Rs. 5 crores, but even then it wasn’t able to touch that, nor was Day 2 anywhere near the amount. As for the audience, the halls are still operating at 50% occupancy rates and will be so for quite some time. The Delhi and NCR regions are still doing good business and Kolkata has been leading the single screen shows collection quite efficiently. Besides that, there are hopes that Chandigarh and Punjab will soon open up to the movie, especially during the weekends. The hopes are more in the Punjab belt because, Punjabi movie “Puaada” did extremely well for pandemic release, and Bell Bottom being an Akshay Kumar movie, analysts have been looking forward to this area more.

Despite the low earnings at the box office, nobody’s determination has weakened. Everyone has been hailing Akshay Kumar and his decision to go with a theatrical release during the situation. This decision seems to have been more important than the box office collection because some way or the other a movie had to take the step and fans are glad that it was an Akshay Kumar movie that was released first.

Now, all eyes are on the weekend as well as an overseas collection of the movie. But, even if the movie hasn’t been doing well in the theatres, it is definitely and clearly because of the situation of Covid-19. The movie has received rave reviews and also has got thumbs up from the critics and whosoever has watched the movies, vouches for the fact that it indeed is a great movie to watch in the theatres.

Now, it is just a matter of time, till we see the numbers rising and the Bell Bottom being enjoyed by more and more movie lovers, all over India, and now abroad too.
