Supermodel Bella Hadid has joined the upcoming season of Hulu comedy Ramy in a recurring role. This will actually mark Hadid’s TV series acting debut.
Award-winning show “Ramy,” is from “The Carmichael” Show creators Jerrod Carmichael and Ari Katcher, Ryan Welch and studio A24 and stars Ramy Youssef in the lead who also writes, creates, directs and executive produces the show. However details of Bella Hadid’s character and storyline are being kept under wraps for now.
“Ramy” follows first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan played by Youssef and his family traversing through spirituality amidst a politically-polarised New Jersey neighborhood. Ramy explores what it’s like to be caught amidst an extremely religious community and a millennial generation that doubts on afterlife. In the third season, Ramy is shown to be giving up on his spiritual journey and focusing on his uncle’s diamond business instead.
Laith Nakli, Hiam Abbass, Amr Waked, May Calamawy, Dave Merheje, Mohammed Amer and Steve Way are the other stars signed on to join Hadid in “Ramy”.
Hadid is one of the top billed and busiest supermodels we have today. Besides modelling contracts with Dior Cosmetics and Michael Kors, she has also campaigned for luxury brands like Fendi, Versace, Givenchy, Moschino, Calvin Klein, and Missoni, among others. However it is yet to be seen if the supermodel can actually bring out some acting chops or would just be another bland good-looker onscreen.
