Hollywood actor Ben Affleck starred in the 2016 action thriller movie ‘The Accountant’, which is considered to be one of the most underrated films of his career. A few years back, it was revealed that a sequel to the film was in the works. Now, as per the latest update, the sequel is officially moving forward and will be produced by Amazon. Ben Affleck, the parent film’s lead actor, will reprise his role in ‘The Accountant’ sequel and Gavin O’Connor will return to direct.
For the unversed, the original 2016 film ‘The Accountant’ was an action-thriller which revolved around an autistic but brilliant accountant (Ben Affleck) who is also highly trained in martial arts. He deploys his unique set of skills to uncook the books of dangerous organizations. The film also featured Anna Kendrick, Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons, and John Lithgow in the important roles.
Earlier, the film’s director Gavin O’Connor had revealed his intentions that he wants to make ‘The Accountant’ a trilogy. Joe Bernthal, who played Ben Affleck’s brother in the first film, is expected to have a meatier part in the sequel. And that the third film would be a buddy movie on the lines of Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise’s 1988 movie ‘Rainman’.
