Besides Sports, Netflix’s Comedy Addition Might Be Exciting!

Now, it is a truth universally acknowledged that Netflix is jumping into the realm of sports. But that doesn’t mean that they will show any form of diversion from their usual contents, and comedy is definitely one of the most interesting parts of their ventures.

And to solidify this, Matt Rife is making a comeback to Netflix with some big projects.

Natural Selection was definitely a hit for the house of Netflix, as they schedule the homecoming of Rife with a bright future. The comedy special of 2023 brought in more than 10M views in the opening weeks and ranked in the top 10 charts in 42 countries.

Talking about these two specials for Netflix, the first is set for release later this year. This initial special will be Netflix’s debut full-length crowd work special, filmed at The Comedy Zone in Charlotte, N.C., and directed by Erik Griffin, with Irony Point producing.

From Taylor Tomlinson to Natalie Palimides, Netflix is definitely bringing some major heat regarding their comedy specials, and though most of it is either a hit or a miss, Prime Video is definitely breathing down their neck in this genre.

And Netflix might cook up something special with some unpredictable names, but that also needs major advertisement and build-up, which might be a turn-off. But someone like Matt Rife has the potential to be the man for the job, at least in the initiation phase.
