Axel Foley is back to kick some ass again! Empire Magazine has revealed the first look of the iconic street-smart lieutenant Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) from the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop 4. The popular character will return to the world of movies after 30 long years. In the last three decades, many attempts have been made to get back Murphy for the role. Well, it is finally happening!
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently spoke with Empire Magazine about the forthcoming Beverly Hills Cop instalment. He guaranteed that viewers would witness a top-class performance from Murphy. “Anytime he walks on set, you never know what you’re going to get. And it’s always pretty brilliant,” Bruckheimer said. “Every day he’s there throws you back to the ‘80s.”
Beverly Hills Cop 4 will not only shed light on Axel Foley’s past cases in Beverly Hills but will also explore the character’s present situation. The fourth film brings Foley back to Beverly Hills after he learns about the mysterious death of his old friend. Soon, he discovers corruption inside the region’s PD. Foley also finds his estranged daughter, Jane (Taylour Paige), working at the Beverly Hills PD.
Also, Murphy’s Foley will get a new partner in the film, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. According to Bruckheimer, both men look great together in the film. He also promised that Joseph would be a “great man for Eddie”.
Beverly Hills Cop 4 will arrive on Netflix in 2024. Apart from Eddie Murphy, the film stars Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, John Ashton, Bronson Pinchot, Taylour Paige, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Kevin Bacon. Stay tuned for more updates.
