This evening, exclusive Telugu OTT platform Aha Video launched the first teaser for its upcoming film ‘Bhamakalapam 2’. As hinted by the title, the film is a sequel to Aha Video’s hit film, Bhamakalapam. Along with the teaser, Aha Video also revealed the release date of Bhamakalapam 2, which is 16th February, 2024.
Interestingly, Aha Video has suddenly done an about turn in the release mode of Bhamakalapam 2. The platform had earlier promised that Bhamakalapam 2 will release exclusively in theatres and not on OTT. But now, there seems to be a flip-flop from Aha Video’s end.
Nowhere in the teaser have they mentioned that Bhamakalapam 2 will release in theatres. Instead, they’ve left it open-ended, by captioning it – “SERVING HOT from Feb 16th” . There’s no mention of theatres or OTT anywhere in the teaser nor on the Aha Video social media handles.
The teaser depicts protagonist Anupama picking up the threads of her life after the crazy adventurous events of the first film. For those who don’t know, Anupama is a food blogger and YouTuber, who unwittingly gets embroiled in a murder in the first film. Having given her word to her husband, Anupama embarks on a new life; but soon, things take a new twisted turn,with Anupama and her partner in crime Shilpa caught in a thrilling heist.
The tagline of Bhamakalapam 2 promises “A Delicious Heist Feast”. Popular actress Priyamani returns as lead in ‘Bhamakalapam 2’. Sharanya Pradeep plays Shilpa. Bhamakalapam 2 also stars Seerat Kapoor, Brahmaji, among others, in pivotal roles. It is written and directed by Abhimanyu Tadimeti, who had also directed the first Bhamakalapam movie.
Bhamakalapam 2 is produced by Bapineedu B and Sudheer Edara of Dream Farmers, in association with Aha Studios.
