Bengali actor Rishav Basu is going to make his Telugu debut soon. The movie is titled ‘Dakshina’ and it will be a psychological thriller. It is slated to release on the 4th of October. ‘Dakshina’ does not, of course, seem to be a very big deal in the Telugu industry and it is a rather smaller production. But it is definitely a big break for an actor like Rishav.
Rishav Basu’s ‘Bhotbhoti’ was a very ambitious independent movie but it failed to make it to any big OTT platform and was finally streaming on YouTube. The movie tells the story of a boy who was raised by his grandmother who used to tell him stories of mermaids. When he grew up and his grandmother was no more, he still kept on believing that there are mermaids under the water. He goes to extreme lengths to find the mermaids. Apart from a visually stunning fantasy, it is also a drama that has a strong socio-political and ecological message.
Rishav Basu has starred in multiple intriguing projects, like Hoichoi’s ‘Srikanto’, ‘Kumudini Bhaban’ apart from Bhotbhoti. And this new Telugu film will boost his CV so that he can do more deserving roles in the industry.
