Disney Plus Hotstar has just dropped the trailer for Bhuj: The Pride Of India, and going by the first look, it promises an action-packed extravaganza for the Independence Day weekend. For those not in the know, the film releases on Disney Plus Hotstar on 13th August.
The 3-minute-long Bhuj trailer gives ample screen time to each riveting character that makes up the narrative of Bhuj: The Pride Of India. Of course, the primary focus is on lead star Ajay Devgn, who plays Indian Army braveheart Vikram Karnik in the film. Highly charged scenes show him defending the Bhuj airstrip against the rampaging Pakistani air force in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The sequences are further enhanced by the explosive dialogues that pepper the trailer.
Sanjay Dutt plays local community leader Ranchordas Pagi, who mobilises his people to fight shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army to push back the Pakistanis. Sequences featuring Dutt are equally terrific. Sonakshi Sinha plays Sunderben Jetha, a Bhuj social activist, who gathers 300 local women and helps in rebuilding the destroyed Bhuj Airstrip in a matter of days. She also features in fight sequences, indicating that the Bhuj fightback in 1971 was an all-out joint effort by the army and civilians combined.
Sharad Kelkar plays an Indian Army soldier, and his ringing voice as he motivates his forces induces goosebumps. Ammy Virk, Nora Fatehi and Pranitha Subhash play key parts, with all three leaving an impression in the trailer.
Bhuj: The Pride Of India has been produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh, and Bunny Sanghavi under their banner Select Media Holdings LLP, and presented by T-Series and Ajay Devgn Ffilms. Abhishek Dudhaiya, Raman Kumar, Ritesh Shah, and Pooja Bhavoria have written the screenplay, while Abhishek Dudhaiya has directed the film.
The “Bhuj:The Pride Of India” trailer is powerful, breathtaking and charismatic. It would have been a super watch in the theatres, what with the bracing aerial warfare sequences that the film brims with. Nevertheless, we can’t wait to catch the film on OTT, on Disney Plus Hotstar.
