After the epic Grand Prix win at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, ‘All We Imagine As Light’ is now shortlisted by France for the Oscars this year.
Payal Kapadia’s debut fiction feature ‘All We Imagine As Light’ stars actors like Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon and more. The movie will be released in France on the 2nd of October and its distribution rights in India are taken by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media but a date has not been revealed yet.
The movie went on to be the first Indian movie in 30 years to compete in the Cannes Film Festival and won the second most prestigious award from the competition. Payal Kapadia and her cast and crew have kept the people of India in awe and anticipation and there is huge craze regarding the movie. The Oscar news will only fire it up.
‘All We Imagine As Light’ was a joint production of India and France. France has shortlisted the movie for Oscars this year and the makers have said that it is being considered from India as well.
One of the producers has said, “We have submitted the film for selection in India. As Indian producers, it’s been incredible seeing a regional language film resonate so deeply with audiences globally.”
It will be great to see a regional film representing both India and France in the most prestigious Award ceremony and it will be crazier for the film to win an award.
