After having a blast on OTT, one more news comes for ‘Laapata Ladies’. The film will have a theatrical release in Japan. Itbis distributed by Shochiku and will be hitting theaters on the 4th of October this year.
‘Laapata Ladies’ made a decent business at the box office and went on to be the first women-led Indian film to gather a gross of 20 crores at the global box office. It is spectacular for a small budget film that it went on to be such a huge success on OTT as soon as it premiered. The word of mouth worked favourably for the movie for a decently long period. As another feather in the cap for the makers, ‘Laapata Ladies’ was screened at the Supreme Court of India for its themes of gender sensitivity and Equality.
The movie stars actors like Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Ranta, Abhay Dubey, mostly new faces. It is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by her and Aamir Khan together.
A new trailer for the movie has been released. It has narration in Japanese but the dialogues are not dubbed, there are subtitles there. It looks like Laapata Ladies will have another hit run in Japan as well.
