It came as a surprise when the official channel of Zee Music Company made the highly acclaimed Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Joram’ available to watch for free on YouTube.
The movie is a survival thriller that tells the story of a man who tries to flee with his infant daughter from a society that does not tolerate them. A vain officer’s search for them and a mother who seeks revenge, adds up to the story of the father and daughter. Apart from Manoj Bajpayee, ‘Joram’ stars actors like Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Smita Tambe, Megha Mathur, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rajshri Deshpande. The movie came out in December 2023.
‘Joram’ is directed by Debashish Makhija, who has become, with his unique filmography, a voice of the marginalised. He had previously directed ‘Bhonsle’, another movie starring Manoj Bajpayee and gathering huge applause from critics and audiences. Debashish Makhija is also known for his extraordinary short films. The film has been screened in multiple international film festivals like Durban and Busan.
