One of the worst things that can happen to a good film is its capitalization for subsequent films. It has happened to probably the greatest franchise in the world, i.e., The Godfather when the third part was released.
Then Bird Box hardly stands any chance…
Precisely that is what has happened with Bird Box Barcelona. The early reviews suggest that the latest Netflix film is nothing but a brutal capitalization of Bird Box, which is easily one of the finest and most successful films Netflix ever made.
Of course, it is not the only opinion to have come out of Hollywood. Some critics are praising the film, but that is restricted only to Collider and a few relatively smaller portals.
IGN went on calling the new spin-off as ridiculous. Overall, the reviews are not promising, just like most big-budget Netflix films.
Bird Box Barcelona stars Mario Casas, Naila Schuberth, Georgina Campbell, and Diego Calva in lead roles.
The film follows a father (Casas) and daughter (Schuberth) and all those people who join to try and survive a dystopian future in which no one survives looking at the unwanted guests that have penetrated the earth.
The movie will be released just tomorrow on Netflix. Let’s wait to see if people accept it the same way they did the original.
