It’s been exactly 3 years, 10 months, and 21 days since the fifth season of the highly popular Netflix anthology series ‘Black Mirror’ dropped on the OTT platform. Yes, we’re that eager for an update on another season. In an exciting development, the official Twitter handle for the ‘Black Mirror’ Netflix series suddenly came alive after its last update in 2019.
A few hours back, the ‘Black Mirror’ Twitter handle posted a mysterious Tweet with the words “what have we missed?”. The post immediately attracted attention from the show’s massive fan base and has now reached more than a whopping 3.3 million views on Twitter. Netflix, Netflix India’s, and many other popular Twitter handles also replied to Black Mirror’s post (Check below).
It looks like the makers of ‘Black Mirror’ will most likely soon announce the release date for the eagerly anticipated ‘Black Mirror Season-6’ on Netflix. Although official confirmation is still awaited in this regard, an update on a sixth season has been long due and it’s high time that they announce it at the earliest.
For those who are not aware or haven’t watched ‘Black Mirror’ on Netflix, it’s a science fiction (can also be enjoyed by non-science fiction audience) anthology television series, which is said to be inspired by another cult anthology show ‘The Twilight Zone’. Each episode of ‘Black Mirror’ is a standalone story that is mostly set in the near future or an alternative reality.
Nearly every episode depicts how the various technologies we casually use today (for instance social media platforms, virtual reality, etc) for the sake of convenience/entertainment and some sophisticated technologies which we often hear about (like genetic engineering, cloning, etc.).
Until now, ‘Black Mirror’ has been made into five seasons spanning a total of 22 episodes across all seasons and a one-of-its-kind interactive film called ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’.
