Blockbuster Sunday: Unda, Bharat, Uriyadi 2, Lisaa

Another Sunday has arrived at our delight and we will make sure it is one holiday you’ll remember for many days to come. Here are films that should hopefully gear you up for a lively week ahead.

Unda – Amazon Prime

What if a police team from Kerala that doesn’t know Hindi or any language beyond Malayalam get deputed for election duty in a Naxalite, Maoist bound town Bastar?

Mammooty comes up with a stellar performance in this simple yet engaging drama that talks about teamwork and how one needs to fight their demons to succeed at work.

Unda is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film.

Bharat – Amazon Prime
A young boy is forced to migrate from his home-town during the Partition and promises his father about protecting his mother and siblings in this very Salman Khan-unlike film, that’s high on emotion and less on action.

Bharat also features Katrina Kaif, Sonali Kulkarni, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani in impressive roles with some memorable music indeed.

Uriyadi 2 – Netflix

Featuring two relative newcomers Vijay Kumar and newcomer Vismaya in the lead roles, the film is a spiritual sequel to the surprise success Uriyadi.

The premise surrounds a man who is committed to fighting against corrupt politicos and businessmen about a factory, from where a toxic gas is consistently polluting the air. The movie has music by Govind Vasantha.

Lisaa – Zee5

Loosely based on filmmaker M Night Shyamalan’s The Visit, Lisaa is about a woman who goes to Kodaikanal to meet her grandparents and resurrect their relationship with her mom.

Things change for the worse as she realises the house is haunted by a ghost. Anjali pitches in with reasonable performance in this one.
